about

Another year, another 50/90! My first songs always turn out weird. I wanted to use the keyboard on this one, and tried recording direct input. I couldn't hear myself, but I looped a basic backing and I think it sounds pretty good. I ended up with this ominous, vaguely political sounding song that I messed with even more, adding a pitched down acoustic guitar for bass, a slapdash lo-fi solo, and a choir of dissonant creepy voices at the end. Interesting way to start out the year. Sounds like discount Diamond Dogs.

lyrics

Verse 1:
Have we reached the point of no return?
Can we extinguish before the bridge is burned?
Have we reached the point of no return?

Looking back into your spangled eyes
The bright blue reflects a sunset sky
Looking back into your spangled eyes

Chorus:
And I can't say without a doubt that you're wrong
Although the evidence is strong
So I'll go before you're gone
Come on

*solo*

Verse 2:
Have we reached the point of no return?
Can we extinguish before the lesson's learned?
Have we reached the point of no return?

Looking back in disbelieving eyes
The bright blue reflects a sunset sky
Looking back in disbelieving eyes

Chorus:
And I can't say without a doubt that you're wrong
Although the evidence is strong
So I'll go before you're gone
Come on
