Verse 1:
The train left half past midnight
And his eyes were on the track
The prison of decision
Meant there was no turning back
I think he thought of you
The way he looked up at the sky
The moon smiled as he cried
And I can tell you why
Chorus:
Don't think it's easy
To ignore the one you love
Gone in an instant
Perfect life that he dreamt of
Packed in a suitcase
Every thought locked in his mind
But he'd tell you
He's doing fine
Verse 2:
Got off at the station
Fell asleep at 2PM
Even though he said
He'd never have that dream again
Woke up on a bench
Policeman tapping on his shoulder
Said he'd have to leave
And then, another day was over
Chorus:
Don't think it's easy
To ignore the one you love
Gone in an instant
Perfect life that he dreamt of
Packed in a suitcase
Every thought locked in his mind
But he'd tell you
He's doing fine
Verse 3:
Now he's at home
A sense of failure in his eyes
Although he tried
Can't live without you, big surprise
He'd rather sleep outside
Than go back to the couch
Thinks better by himself
When he's outside of the house
Chorus:
Don't think it's easy
To ignore the one you love
Gone in an instant
Perfect life that he dreamt of
Packed in a suitcase
Every thought locked in his mind
But he'd tell you
He's doing fine
lyrics
This song was written in the wee hours of the morning, using challenge. I utilized the PlotSpline, structure (Verse, chorus, verse, chorus, verse, chorus, outro), lyricloud (Lonesome and railroad stuck out especially), and the autochords for the verse (Bm-Em-F#m; used a different progression for the chorus). Ended up as kind of a countryish song and a lyrical departure for me, while still utilizing the same themes. I really like it.

Our first album is a raw piece of garage (er, basement) rock, heavily inspired by Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Weezer. It's rough, but it's free, and in my biased opinion, worth a listen. John Vermeersch
