about

Got the basic guitar and drums done for this two days ago and came back to finish it today. Verse chords are nicked from a Last Shadow Puppets tune and raised a whole step, and there's also a little Weezer reference in there.

I think the Remo Drive and Velvet Crush influences are also pretty apparent.

lyrics

Verse 1:
Don't say it's over
I really tried
But I still have all those nightmares
I'm a social butterfly

I think I loved you
Like everyone
But my sweaters are in pieces
And I'm coming undone

Chorus:
The summer slipped away that year
The future's always been something to fear
Just like my friends all disappeared
Oh God, I wanna stay right here

Verse 2:
Everybody loves you
Everybody cares
Till it's time for them to help you
Then nobody's ever there

They say they miss me
But they don't call
Then again, I don't call either
Do I care at all?

Chorus:
The summer slipped away that year
The future's always been something to fear
Just like my friends all disappeared
Oh God, I wanna stay right here

*solo*

Chorus:
The summer slipped away that year
The future's always been something to fear
Just like my friends all disappeared
Oh God, I wanna stay right here
