about

Last of the songs I wrote while out of town! This one might be my favorite of the bunch, I came up with an arrangement on acoustic+keyboard that I really like (and I ran that keyboard through a DS-1 distortion pedal for the solo!), and my friend Will McCarthy offered to do a mix and made it sound all HD.

Lyrics are the usual, good ol' personal angsting about highschool crushes. I'm really proud of the vocal delivery which I think adds to the sad.

(Working title: "Bus Ride")

lyrics

Verse 1:
I'm expired
I'm too old for who I admired
Douse the latern
A victim of my saddest pattern

Pre-Chorus:
Now she's gone, she's MIA
I guess she was that anyway
Oh well, stopped keeping track in May

Verse 2:
Fell for that trick
I'm trapped in the schedule I picked
Did you notice?
Your number is still on my hitlist

Pre-Chorus:
But now I'm gone, I'm MIA
I'm halfway through this lonely state
Though you stopped keeping track in May

Chorus:
What a bus ride
It felt like 2am
I said so much
I made and lost a friend

Shook so certain
I ran right past the end
And now I wanna
See the start again

Verse 3:
Do you miss me?
You don't have a reason that I see
Swim through your hair
Get tangled enough that I die there

Pre-Chorus:
Now we're gone so far away
I'd cancel all my plans today
To unload all I wanna say

Chorus:
What a bus ride
It felt like 2am
I said so much
I made and lost a friend

Shook so certain
I ran right past the end
And now I wanna
See the start again

*solo*

Pre-Chorus:
Now she's gone, she's MIA
I guess she was that anyway
She'll leave for college late next May

Chorus:
What a bus ride
It felt like 2am
I said so much
I made and lost a friend

Shook so certain
I ran right past the end
And now I wanna
See the start again
