about

I've been sick, so I wanted to see what I could do with some sick voice. I tried to be Elliott Smith with bass instead of guitar and go as minimalist as possible. It turned out pretty interestingly, I think, especially with the stream-of-consciousness lyrics.

lyrics

Verse 1:
Waking from cryosleep
And I think I'm alone again
Steering wheel came clean off
We crashed

Cut off abruptly
Leave me in a blurry lucid dream
White noise
And I'll reject the facts

Chorus:
Drain me a little more
I love it when you leave
Hide all your sins
And I'll pretend that I'm naive

Verse 2:
Need something biblical
Can't look her in the eyes
So stable
I could trip and fall

Voice like an earthquake
And I feel like July
Present but I'm absent
From role call

Chorus:
Drain me completely
Be my false messiah, please
Hide all your sins
And I'll pretend that I'm naive

Don't tell me anything
Turn off the hallway light
Please leave me
In the dark all night

Bridge:
Can I reverse a magnet?
Light bulb's only half lit
Leave me in the dark

Back off the police line
Everything is half mine
Imaginary park

I don't need a nametag
Let me raise a white flag
Sinking in quick sand

Street is catching fire
Prove that I'm a liar
You can't, but I can
