Inspired by Barry Goldman's stuff, I wanted an old school punk sounding song. I dunno how old school it sounds, but I think I got at least a little bit of the punk vibe with the energy and delibertely shoddy bass tone. Kinda hard to emulate punk drums with bongos though. :P
lyrics
Verse 1:
Black frills
Cheap thrills
Need another way to waste my time
Steep hills
Vague chills
Need another way to lose my mind
Chorus:
Nothing to gain and everything to lose
You say it works, but do you have the proof?
Nothing to gain and everything to lose
I want both, so I don't have to choose
*Post-Chorus*
Verse 2:
Dull nerves
Sharp curves
Need another way to keep me sane
Big swerve
Deserved
Need another way to hide my shame
Chorus:
Nothing to gain and everything to lose
You say it works, but do you have the proof?
Nothing to gain and everything to lose
I want both, so I don't have to choose
*post-chorus, solo*
Chorus:
Nothing to gain and everything to lose
You say it works, but do you have the proof?
Nothing to gain and everything to lose
I want both, so I don't have to choose
Nothing to gain and everything to lose
You say it works, but do you have the proof?
Nothing to gain and everything to lose
I want both, so I don't have to choose
*post-chorus*

John Vermeersch: Guitar, vocals, bass, and bongos
Our first album is a raw piece of garage (er, basement) rock, heavily inspired by Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Weezer. It's rough, but it's free, and in my biased opinion, worth a listen. John Vermeersch
