about

I tried writing this for the skirmish today (July 5th, sunrise/sunset theme), but I'd barely gotten the chorus melody and an early version of the verse down before some company arrived early and I couldn't finish on time. So I did the logical thing and finished it at midnight as a one take demo. I couldn't even upload it when I first recorded it, because the demo was too lo-fi for bandcamp.

I like the chorus a lot here, would love to flesh this song out more. Might do a better demo if I'm not too fixated on new material.

lyrics

Verse 1:
I'm at the end of my rope
I think I'm better off alone
Five minutes turn to twenty
Why do you wanna love me?

I never wanted to see this
A miss with bliss

Chorus:
Why does the sunset always rise?
Why can't you look me in the eyes?
A bed of regrets
Makes me forget

All the things that we should know

Verse 2:
A nighttime sky in the afternoon
I really hope it's morning soon
The birds are chirping
Lack of confidence is lurking

I never wanted to see this
A near miss kiss

Chorus:
Why does the sunset always rise?
Why can't you look me in the eyes?
A bed of regrets
Makes me forget

All the things that we should know

Bridge:
I'm sorry
I'm sorry
I'm sorry
I'm sorry

Chorus:
Why does the sunset always rise?
Why can't you look me in the eyes?
A bed of regrets
Makes me forget

All the things that we should know
