Oof, so I've been away awhile and this is a weird one to come back with. I was listening to "The Jeweller's Hands" by the Arctic Monkeys and I came up with the riff for this after learning the bass part. Then I added some funky guitars. Sounds real modern with the hook I put on there.
Lyrics were supposed to be about something specific, but that wasn't giving me any ideas, so they're made up about like, partying, or something.

lyrics
Verse 1:
And in time, you'll be fine
But for now, I'll sit and worry about you
Time, it lies
I don't wanna be at home but I have to
Raise the tide every night
I saw it and I'll see it again
Out all night
But I wonder where you are on the weekends
Chorus:
I swear I know your name
I swear I know your name
I swear I know, but I can't place it
Would we both be better off
If we gave another shot
To the things that never happened
Verse 2:
Am I talking too much?
If you want me, then I can shut up
What to say
I dunno because the memory's rough
I went out to the woods
And built a house of cards for a home
Arrows fly
And I know it's no one's fault but my own
Chorus:
I swear I know your name
I swear I know your name
I swear I know, but I can't place it
Would we both be better off
If we gave another shot
To the things that never happened

Our first album is a raw piece of garage (er, basement) rock, heavily inspired by Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Weezer. It's rough, but it's free, and in my biased opinion, worth a listen. John Vermeersch
