Took [@marvsmooth]'s theme and came up with this really creepy sounding verse (originally a bass riff; might bring it back to bass if I flesh this out more) progression. I made my lyrics about, of course, my usual thing, but added fear on both sides and it came out really well! I appreciate how raw this is and I quite like it.
lyrics
Verse 1:
Well, yesterday she told me
What I'd known the whole time
She said it's creepy
How I always seem one step behind
My eyes were wide
I knew the sweat was flowing freely
Cause every time I try
I fuck it up completely
Chorus:
Do I have a chance to fix it?
Did I already miss it?
Can't stand the thought
Of letting go
But I don't wanna be the
One who intimidates ya
So I just might
Leave you alone
Verse 2:
I don't know how
So I just sneak into the foreground
My awkward pause evolved
Into a lifetime letdown
I think she hates me
And I think, I think, I overthink
Position shifting
Maybe that's why I can't blink
Chorus:
Do I have a chance to fix it?
Did I already miss it?
Can't stand the thought
Of letting go
But I don't wanna be the
One who intimidates ya
So I just might
Leave you alone
Bridge:
It never works, it never works, it never works
Although I try, I get ripped off and end up hurt
It never works, it never works, it never works
It never works, it never works, it never works
Chorus:
Do I have a chance to fix it?
Did I already miss it?
Can't stand the thought
Of letting go
But I don't wanna be the
One who intimidates ya
So I just might
Leave you alone

John Vermeersch: guitar and vocals
Our first album is a raw piece of garage (er, basement) rock, heavily inspired by Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Weezer. It's rough, but it's free, and in my biased opinion, worth a listen. John Vermeersch
